Today I went driving around looking for a retail location,and at the same time I am applying for a small business loan. You know what? Its tough! Finding a great location, perfect size for a new store (300-500sq.ft) with a reasonable lease is a lot more difficult than you would think.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ( I walked around a couple of cities this morning and didn't realize how many phone stores there were! We need to have more stationery!)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ SO! My friend and I have been chatting about ways to create a brand/buzz before we take the huge leap to start our own store. We want to start doing pop-ups or shop in shops! Preferably a coffee shop (since we love grabbing a new notebook and pen and sitting down with a great cup of coffee and doodling away!..my days in Tokyo are coming back to me...) Would love to build a small kiosk or a corner with all types of pens, notebooks and stickers. Am inspired by the Heath News stand they had in SF and all the other small stationery shops I got to visit while in NYC.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Am putting this out there so that maybe, just maybe someone will know of someone OR a small local store is open to collaborating together in creating a space for people to sip and journal!
