Sometimes being a hero means breaking the rules. At the advent of the quartz crisis, Swiss watch manufactures began to lose hope in the future of mechanical movements. Charles Vermot believed otherwise, and decided to go against the consensus by hiding all the plans and production tools required to make the El Primero calibre in a secret attic in the Zenith manufacture.

This is why I bought in to the product and the brand. It is a pleasure to own and wear a Zenith El Premiro movement. Thank you M Vermont for saving this wonderful time keeping machine. And to the Arnault family @antoinearnault for developing the products. Merci.

Inspiring, a man whose love for the El Primero was so powerful that he took the remarkable and courageous decision to conceal the entire machine tooling in the attic space of the Zenith factory...an absolute hero!

The full documentary can be found on YouTube. Thanks to his passion and commitments the EP is still living. I am proud I had a discussion with his son. Zenith is such a great manufacture

Thank you sir for your passion and vision. YOU and your story are the reason I own my El Primero which I cherish with the same regard. Again, thank you 👏👏👏👏

Just think of what would have happened to the Daytona if he didn't do what he did? He saved not only Zenith but Rolex give that man a Nobel prize 😁
