Happy birthday to Betye Saar, who was born #onthisday in 1926! "Still Ticking," one of her most self-referential assemblages, features inscriptions of birth years and astrological glyphs, both her own and her family members'. This fall, LACMA will celebrate Saar's work with the exhibition "Betye Saar: Call and Response," opening September 22.
