@stephen_matera photographer here kicking off the takeover for Oboz this weekend. I wanted to share some of what goes into the photoshoots I have done for Oboz over the past couple of years. Washington, my home state, is blessed with so much beauty that often the challenge for selecting a shooting location is a problem of too many options. This is a good problem to have! In this case, there were many considerations of where to shoot. First, we needed to have a location which fit the terrain that Oboz wanted. I had models coming from a couple of different locations, both pretty far apart. So I tried to find a location somewhere in the middle. And the final unknown factor was smoke from wildfires. When we shot this, there was smoke from many places (including from other states). The conditions were changing daily based on the wind direction on that day. In the end we shot in the southern Cascades of Washington with perfect conditions.
