Our newly announced special exhibition spans from the 1500s to the present day, looking at how artists and craftspeople from Europe and North America were inspired by – and represented – the Islamic world, especially the Middle East and North Africa.

The show offers a rare opportunity to see @islamicartsmuseummalaysia’s collection of Orientalist paintings, like this portrait of Ottoman Sultan Bayezid I made in Venice in the 16th century. The paintings will be displayed alongside glassware, ceramics, sculpture and contemporary art.
