Gratitude , I would say , I can’t explain to you how it feels to work your life towards something and then see it be actualized.
This piece is a 1 Of 1 , 6ftx 6.5ft silkscreen all done in one shot.. ( extremely difficult )
I made 2 of these one for @joemanganiello the second one I did for myself. It sold last week to an amazing collector , who was so direct and lovely to work with ! There was no back and forth no grinding and it sold for exactly what I wanted for the piece. No agents no galleries nothing just me and a collector. I had 6 people previously try to buy it , and I told them all no.. I even had a art dealer tell me” Rolland it will never sale , and you need to come to reality and just take the deal” I don’t believe in coming to any reality , I believe in making my own reality I’ve done it since I was a child , and I can say it’s the single most important tool I’ve learned ( or came here with ) If you could see my face and hear my voice now you would know how true this is in my soul. I have worked since I was 16 trying to find this place I’m at now. I don’t have a lot of “things” because things mean nothing to me... I’m on what my friend @colinblades called “ A Hero’s Journey “ and I’ve been on it my whole life. I’m thankful for every second that got me here , I’m thankful for all of the struggle , stress and impossible obstacles.. because all of those things made me who I am , I am also thankful for all of the positive things in my life as well.
