If you don’t know then let me introduce you to the #Panerai #PAM80 released in 2001 which is a 42mm Radiomir with Blue sunburst dial, 18K white gold case, and powered by a hand wound Chézard movement which has a dead beat seconds displayed by the seconds hand. This independent seconds hand stops and goes like a quartz movement instead of the sweeping motion you are familiar with in these types of watches. Pic by @bdotlau #paneraicentral

@paneraicentral 20k is a pretty good price, considering rarity and it being a unique proposition in the Panerai lineup. Precious metal, deadbeat seconds, small case when they didn’t really do small cases that much. If it were a vintage Rolex it would be $80k at a minimum.

Man, very rarely seen. I wonder what one would go for if one hit the market. Weren’t they like 25k retail? Pretty good value at retail with white gold case and that movement.

those type of movements where really popular in the 1950´s called also the doctor´s watch, because they were intended to help the doctors when taking a patient pulse.

@automotiveromance they were lot cheaper . Nobody seamed to appreciate dead beat watches. Too bad for them ;))))) will never ever sell mine . Thanks for the post

@automotiveromance if I’m not mistaken most that I have seen are still in the 20 range. But you rarely see them come up for sale.
