Everything’s bigger in Texas, including exports. That’s largely thanks to surging oil shipments.
In the first two months of 2019, Texas represented nearly 20% of all U.S. exports. The Lone Star State’s exports totaled more than $50.9 billion, increasing 9% from a year earlier.
What’s fueling that growth? “Two-thirds of the U.S. increase in exports over these last two months have come from Texas,” said one economist. “And 99.4% of that is oil and gas.”
