gggreen14 I would strongly encourage AFP journalists to use more nuanced and less sensational language when referring to sensitive issues like the events unfolding in Diavata. Using phrases like “migrants clash with police” depicts violence and aggression on the part of asylum seekers who are, by in large, peacefully gathering. Meanwhile, it is police which are using questionable riot control techniques on vulnerable people, including women, children and people with disabilities, who are already affected by trauma. This is not some invasion or armed conflict, nor is it a violent riot. Please don’t depict it as such.
