While the FDA doesn’t know yet if there’s a relationship between using e-cigarettes and seizures, the agency said it’s investigating 35 reports of seizures after vaping.
The reported seizures are from 2010 and 2019, and affected kids and young adults the most. Some were using e-cigarettes for the first time, while others were regular users.
There isn’t much research on the long-term health impacts of e-cigarettes. Proponents say they give cigarette smokers a healthier option because they don’t contain the same toxic chemicals. Others say e-cigarettes make younger people addicted to nicotine.
