☁️ Today’s gray weather in New York City is not so different from the misty, atmospheric scene in this painting by American artist John Frederick Kensett. Born on this day in 1816, Kensett spent most of his summers making sketches from nature which he later worked into paintings in his studio. #LakeGeorge in New York’s Adirondack Mountains was a favorite site.
