Watch out Apple and Samsung. Huawei is starting to catch up.
The Chinese tech company is starting to gain major ground in the smartphone market, new Gartner research found. Huawei’s share grew to almost 15% in three months by December 2018 — that’s up 4 percentage points from the same period last year.
Apple and Samsung still hold the lead with 17% and 16% of the marketshare, respectively. But as their prices continue to rise, consumers are shifting their attention to Huawei’s cheaper alternatives.
