Karl’s drawing of Anna Piaggi in the first hat I made for her in 1983. (pale blue velveteen with lemon paradise). We hardly ever worked together, but in our interactions his demeanour was so refined and elegant and his wit so wonderfully perceptive. Chanel surfboards! The Chloe shower dress!
