I am fascinated by the new generation of creatives working in the #networked world. It is so different to mine. They have not been influenced in the same way by the roles of editors, tastemakers, photographers, models, muses, artists. They, and their peers, ARE all of this. And more. The whole of Instagram is all of that, and more - to the point of boredom. So authenticity, passion and persona are becoming more valuable in terms of communication. It’s like one big 80s/90s nightclub and the #Look (poise, style, attitude, message, taste, network) is everything. This repost is of an image that deserves to hang in a gallery - and it is. I had a vision, of a deer in the streets , escaping from a tall apartment building that was on fire. Trying to go down the escape ladder but she falls and impales herself on the railing. I was so compelled I felt I had to draw her and embody her at once.
