Jeff Bezos took aim at David Pecker’s National Enquirer Thursday night.

In a blog post headlined “No thank you, Mr. Pecker,” the Amazon CEO claims that AMI, the tabloid’s publisher, tried to blackmail and extort him. Bezos said that the National Enquirer threatened to publish sexual photos that he’d sent to his mistress, Lauren Sanchez. One picture included a “below the belt selfie.” Bezos claimed that AMI asked him to publicly deny that the publisher’s coverage of his divorce had any political motivation. The Enquirer is published by Pecker, who is longtime friends with President Donald Trump. Trump has repeatedly attacked The Washington Post — owned by Bezos — for coverage he believes is unfair.

In a statement Friday, AMI said it “acted lawfully” in its reporting of Bezos’ alleged infidelity.
