A quarter of Americans are at risk of their jobs being automated — and the disruption will hurt some people more than others.
A new study by the Brookings Institution found that low-wage earners will be some of the first to see their jobs disappear. Many jobs in food preparation, office administration and transportation are set to be taken over by machines.
These changes will likely happen soon, especially if we enter a recession, the co-author of the study said.
