With a slight obsession for sunglasses I went to check out Gentle Monster’s new store.
They have set up inspired “showrooms” across the world, all individually themed and designed offering a unique experience in each one. At the #Singapore branch @GENTLE MONSTER have themed their store “SAMSARA” inspired by Ron Fricke’s documentary (if you haven’t watched it, watch it!) and the core philosophy of salvation introduced in Nietzsche’s “Thus spoke Zarathustra”. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Nietzsche writes that salvation can only be achieved through becoming overman, by becoming one’s self. He describes the three transformations of the spirit, the first obedience symbolised by camel, lion for governance, and child for freedom. This maturity is expressed to connect with man’s desire to break free the unescapable wheel of life. ? love the concept, love the store, love the sunglasses.
