This afternoon at @TheFashionInstitute I spoke with students studying their Diploma of Business, I shared the story of the SW brand from startup to global stage & personal stories of each of the following topics. If you don’t have time to fit all this in, reassess your time allocation to the former⠀ •Be genuine in celebrating the successes of your friends, peers & rivals⠀ •Be the person who makes people feel seen⠀⠀ •Your personal brand is the highest currency you will ever own ⠀ ⠀ WHATEVER YOU CHOOSE TO DO, MAKE IT MATTER⠀ •There is no insignificant task⠀ ⠀ •How do people FEEL when the interact with you? ⠀ •Our first language is body language, what does yours say?⠀ •Be Interested, not interesting⠀ •Do more than you are paid to do⠀ •Listen. Don’t just wait for you turn to talk⠀ •Nurture relationships⠀ •Every person who crosses your path has something to teach you⠀ ⠀ IF YOU LAUNCH YOUR OWN BRAND⠀ •It has to be more than just a product⠀ •Learn to be a good story teller⠀ •What is your legacy, do work that matters⠀ •Be the first to put your hand up when the brand has made a mistake. Don’t wait to be called on it⠀ •How you treat your most difficult customer is the true sign of your brand integrity⠀ •Show gratitude for those who choose to work in your company; they are choosing to build YOUR dream⠀ •Be consistent with your word,brand message & your Mgmt style⠀ •Don’t compare your Chapter 1 to someone elses Chapter 20⠀ ⠀ BE KIND⠀ •To others. To yourselves⠀ •Above anything else in your life & career, this is the biggest investment you can make in this world⠀ ⠀ PAY IT FORWARD⠀ •Open Networking. Share your ideas, this is how communities are built⠀ •Give your time & knowledge⠀ •Be generous for no reason⠀
