When in London...Monocle cafe is a must! Minimalist design...cool atmosphere, great cappuccino, and yummy eats! The black and white stripe awning caught my attention and knew when I saw it I had to try to replicate it! A cafe worth the effort to find! ? So here’s a note ? worth sharing...often times when traveling or visiting a place I find myself limited in time. That being said, taking pics can have its challenges ( well, taking pics for posting) like a place can be too crowded, cars blocking the view of the shop etc, I have tons of those pics in my album. ? Not too long ago, I started to illustrate cafe exteriors /interiors and add little hints of animation to it. This started because I couldn’t get that right pic. When I sketched my first one...omg challenging...but as I’m illustrating I noticed the little details that I would have missed even in a photograph. It made me appreciate more of the uniqueness of a particular place. Also, what I love is when I start to sketch...I’m taken back to that cafe. It’s like doubling my experience. It’s been really fun for me learning and teaching myself how to sketch exterior facades. Loving it so much to a point that I look forward to sketching my photographs. Lots of erasing ? lots and lots of cutting mini chairs, tables, planters etc...but so satisfying when I finish the picture. ?
