‘To take a good picture, one needs two eyes. And eyes are either gifted to see or not.’ Pictures by Erich Lessing, probably Austria’s most famous photographer, went around the world. The photographer, passed away on 29 August 2018 at the age of 95.
Born in Vienna on 13 July 1923, Erich Lessing began work as a photojournalist for #AssociatedPress in 1947, became a member of the agency #MagnumPhotos and covered the events of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956 with his camera.
Everyone at Leica Camera AG sadly bids a last, fond farewell to a close friend and exceptional photographer.
