The mysterious pond is located in a world heritage-listed area, Shirakami-sanchi, in Aomori Prefecture. It is one of the #JunikoLakes (#十二湖) surrounded by beeches.

The pond, the most famous one among the Juniko Lakes, is known for its gorgeous turquoise color, which looks as if it is about to take you in. The color changes depending on the season and time since it is related to solar altitude in some ways. However, the reason why it looks mysterious blue is still unknown.
