Meet KEEN Ambassador, Rue Mapp. Rue is the proud founder and CEO of the non-profit @outdoorafro, celebrating and inspiring black leadership in nature.
Outdoor Afro was started in 2009 as a blog, quickly growing in popularity. Rue was invited to the White House in 2010 to participate int he America's Great Outdoors Conference, followed by participating in a think-tank to inform the launch of the First Lady’s “Let’s Move” initiative.

Since the start of her blog, Rue has had work featured in The Wall Street Journal, Backpacker Magazine, Ebony Magazine, Sunset Magazine, NPR and many others.
Recently, Outdoor Afro became the first American all-black expedition team to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. The team of 11 unique climbers from all over the country, ranging in age from 25 to 60 spent a year training before their climb.
