We’re kicking off #SharkWeek in style with this custom painted helmet worn by George Orton.
Orton began skateboarding in the early 1970s. He is credited with helping create the front side air, the first vertical aerial move in pool skating which paved the way for new tricks. He retired from skateboarding in the early 1980s. In the late 1990s, Orton returned to begin a career as a street luge and downhill skater, where he was known for wearing colorful helmets like this one.
