Today's #AllTooHumanInspired artist is @sally_hewett: 'Lucien Freud’s later paintings are of real bodies, undisguised and raw. Both he and Walter Sickert seem to delight in the fleshiness and vulnerability of their models. In these pieces I am also looking at real bodies, bodies with the marks of life on them, bodies that show their history. By isolating characteristics sometimes considered ugly or even disgusting, I want to question that view. Because there are perhaps certain expectations concerning embroidery and needlework maybe it’s easier to creep up on the viewer and disrupt their taken-for-granted views using this medium and these techniques.' - Sally Hewett
