Here’s just one step in the nacelle phase of a GE Haliade 150-6MW #WINDCYCLE: building the hub. In progress here, the hub is where the blades attach to the nacelle. The pitch bearing within the hub can adjust the angle of the blades based on the wind conditions—useful for generating efficient energy from fast-changing winds at sea. Once the project is complete, 66 of these nacelles will operate at Merkur offshore wind farm, generating enough power for around 500,000 homes.
