"Songkran" is the Thai New Year's festival. We express our respect to our elders by pouring scented water onto their hands. The elders in turn wish the youngsters good luck, prosperity and all good things. (The Thai New Year's Day is 13 April every year, but the holiday period includes 14–15 April as well.)

The Songkran Festival is also known as the water festival. The real meaning behind the splashes is to symbolically wash off all misfortunes in the past year, thus welcoming the new year with a fresh new start.😊 #TeamAo
