4/4発売、FREAK「Covers ～R&B Sessions～」総合プロデュース、ボーカルプロデュース、そして4曲のミックスをしてます。めちゃくちゃ良いものができたと自負しております、聞いてください！

FREAK's new album is out today, filled with cover songs this time. I'm not a fan of cover songs, but I can say I'm proud of this one. Well, for the last 10 years or so, doing a cover album is a 'thing' in the Japanese music industry, probably because the labels think it sells (though it's not going to be a huge hit) and it's easier to make. What a boring way to make music... There's nothing wrong with doing covers, but when you do a cover, you should know how to express yourself there as an artist. (Who would want to listen to some unknown person doing karaoke, right? There are so many of those karaoke cover albums out here, and I despise them.) Thanks to the takented musician friends, I believe this one turned out super good. (Just so you know, I did my best and am proud of all the cover songs that I've worked on, and this is not an exception.)

正直な話をすると、カバーアルバムは乗り気じゃなかったんです。「カバーやったら？」ってレコード会社とか結構安易に言うけど、カラオケみたいな曲の集まりになったら嫌やし、本人達が積み上げてきたアーティスト性を壊すことにもなりかねんと思うから。そこで、上條頌くんに生バンドアレンジをお願いして、逆にカバーによってFREAKらしさが出る形を模索。セルフカバーも収録。結果、ペニーさん、高尾さん、ケンシくんというスーパープレイヤー達の演奏により凄くかっこいいものになったと思うし、歌のレコーディングもいつもより更に時間をかけて、オリジナルに泥を塗らないように、そして自分達らしさを出すように録ったから、4人の歌が1番の聞きどころ。関わってくださった皆さん、ほんまにありがとうございました！そして、聞いた方、ぜひ感想をお聞かせください！
