A young bride, Ratna, getting ready for her wedding day in the village of Manehor in Bangladesh. At 19 years old, she is nervous as her two younger sisters look on. They are excited for their sister, but heartbroken for her inevitable departure to a new home with her husband-to-be, Bilal. The new beginnings of a Bengali marriage are bittersweet: A daughter must leave everyone she knows to start anew. Albeit still beloved, she will now be just a visitor to her childhood home.
