‘Nigerian-born, LA-based Njideka Akunyili Crosby layers her part-painting, part-collage canvases with personal photographs packed with memories from her childhood. Embedded with art historical and political references, her intimate and domestic collages blend and reflect the complexity of a postcolonial and cosmopolitan Africa with her adopted Western home of America.
