Patience and persistence are the focus of the @chillfoundation during weeks two and three of the program, and while those values sure hit close to home for learning to snowboard, they also help with dealing with life’s curveballs, too. Our nonprofit works with social service agencies, mental health agencies, foster care programs, juvenile justice programs, and schools in local communities to select youth participants who come from varied backgrounds to teach critical life skills – all through learning a new board sport. Everything is provided at no cost, including equipment, outerwear, lift tickets, transportation, lessons and more, giving kids who may be used to disadvantages and setbacks a chance to feel like they are all equal and they all belong. ?
