In 2017, Edward Bodenham, 9th generation of the Floris family, explored the coveted island of Islay which led to, ‘Islay’ Eau de Parfum. Allowing Edward full access to the creation process of Kilchoman's now famed whisky collection created the perfect backdrop to develop a unique and authentic fragrance.

"I took huge inspiration from the island itself and wanted to incorporate green top notes of galbanum to reflect the wild, windswept hedgerows of Islay. The addition of orris helped to accentuate the smooth and soft floral character that I found in the notes of the ‘100% Islay’ blend. The cool orris also served to balance the rich, rugged peaty accord of cade oil and patchouli which I was keen to make a prominent facet of the scent, representing the signature of both the ‘Machir Bay’ and ‘100% Islay’ blends that I was working with. Amber brings a glowing warmth as well as a soft fruitiness to the fragrance, and I felt that the cedarwood was the perfect note to interpret the important process that the whisky's maturing casks lend to the final distillation. Finally the deep base notes of musk, sandalwood and vanilla add a satisfying warmth, longevity and roundness to the fragrance." – Edward Bodenham.
