The late Peter Hujar is the fourth artist in HELMUT LANG: THE ARTIST SERIES, curated by former Editor-in-Residence @IsabellaBurley. Hujar died of AIDS in 1987, leaving his estate to his dear friend and author Stephen Koch. "Peter was interested in all kinds of passion," says Koch. "He was interested also in, what I would call, the iconography of passion...Extreme emotion. Emotion in which pain and pleasure are almost indistinguishable. It was extraordinarily powerful for him."
