The #HudsonRiverSchool was a 19th-century art movement that included prominent American landscape painters, such as Thomas Cole, Sanford Gifford, and Thomas Moran. These artists were inspired by the breathtaking beauty of the Hudson River Valley, New England, and, the grandeur of the American west and southwest.

“Grand Canyon of the Colorado River,” 1892 and 1908, by Thomas Moran. “A Coming Storm,” 1863, retouched and redated in 1880, by Sanford Gifford. “Landscape, the Seat of Mr. Featherstonhaugh in the Distance,” 1826, by Thomas Cole. “River Landscape with Figures,” 1859, by William M. Hart.
