?? Suivez-nous dans les coulisses du musée ! Aujourd’hui, #JourDeFermeture, plusieurs œuvres du département des peintures ont été raccrochées dans les salles du 2ème étage de l’aile Richelieu récemment rouvertes, notamment deux chefs-d’œuvre peints sur bois et datant du tout début du XVe siècle. La «Grande Pietà ronde» attribuée à Jean Malouel revient de l’exposition que le @Rijksmuseum d’Amsterdam a consacré à cet artiste, et le «Christ de Pitié» des Frères de Limbourg, acquis par le musée en 2012, vient de retrouver toute sa splendeur. Sa restauration vient en effet de s’achever. Venez les redécouvrir au musée dès demain.

? Follow us behind the scenes at the museum! Today, several paintings have been rehung in the rooms that have recently reopened on the second floor of the Richelieu wing. Here are two masterpieces in particular: they have been painted on wood and date back to the very beginning of the 15th century. The first one is the Pietà, attributed to Jean Malouel, which just came back from the @Rijksmuseum where it was on display in an exhibition dedicated to him. The second one, “Man of Sorrows Supported by John the Evangelist accompanied by the Virgin Mary and Two Angels”, acquired by the museum in 2012, has recently regained its splendor following its recent restoration. Come and see them once again, as of tomorrow!
