We’ve been sharing our sustainability goals for the year 2020 and there are a few more to add: we’ll reduce carbon emissions by 20%, divert 75% of our waste from the landfill, and all of our events will be carbon neutral—no small feat considering the #BurtonUSOpen’s 60,000+ annual attendees.

What started as a way to keep surfing through winter has turned into a lively community and a lifestyle characterized by a relentless drive to build, play, improve, repeat. We owe it all to our playground, so it’s up to us to protect it.
We’re rapidly minimizing our impact on the environment but our action alone isn’t enough, so we promise to speak out on policy issues that can effect bigger change. Our entire industry should do the same, and we hope you’ll join us. To learn more about our path to 2020, follow the link in our bio.
