??En ce froid jour d’hiver aux alentours de 1840, une épaisse couche de neige couvre l’ensemble de Paris… Reconnaissez-vous ce point de vue? Oui ? C’est bien la vue extérieure de la Grande Galerie du Louvre avec la Seine et le pont du Carrousel, et on aperçoit même l’arc de triomphe au loin ! Aujourd’hui c’est le premier jour d’hiver, la journée la plus courte de l’année et cette belle peinture nous fait souhaiter un Noël blanc !

A thick blanket of snow covers the streets of Paris and lines the rooftops, creating the Winter Wonderland we have all been wishing for this Christmas. But the question is do you recognize this view? It is a view of the Seine and the Louvre Grande Galerie with the Carrousel Bridge, painted by Hippolyte Sebron around 1840.
