#HMLTD with #ToTheDoor In a musical landscape that relies on the cosiness of convention, @HMLTD are here to disrupt that security with their storm of subversive sound and style. Rapturous, ravenous and rebellious, the band revel in being renegades. Formed in 2016, the provocateurs coalesce punk, pop, glam-rock, dubstep, techno, grime, hip-hop, and rock’n’roll into a sound that is irrevocably modern and avant-garde. Just when you think you’ve finally pinned their genre down, or that you’re finally lulled into genre safety, HMLTD completely rip up and do away with categorisation and convention. Their first single ‘Stained’ - released in 2016 - is an example of this. It begins as a raunchy rock number before blasting its way into dubstep. Their adverse audio and audacious attitude merges into their aesthetics too. Leather and latex, hyper-femininity and masculinity, fetishwear and fishnets is only a small portion of their amorphous image. The band have sold out shows across London and the rest of the UK, and have created gigantic waves in the cult music scene. They’ve been heralded as the real outcasts and outsiders who represent the current shift in music, gender and sexuality. Earlier this year, they released their single ‘To The Door’ - a spaghetti Western cacophony that wouldn’t seem out of place in a Tarantino film. In the video, the band disrupt normality. From DIY-ghosts with frat-party red cups dancing next to a semi-naked front-man riding a mechanical bull, to other band-mates swirling around is a demented, digital haze - their hyper-realism, the technicolour androgyny and their perfected preposterousness makes this a song, and a band you need to hear. Wearing a myriad of our #algender footwear and accessories, To The Door is one of our favourite videos of 2017. Go check them out and give them a follow. #undergroundshoe #undergroundshoes #undergroundengland #undergroundlondon #8berwickstreet #underground_halfmoon #britishsubculture
