On the unbroken expanse of the South Dakotan grasslands, lies a small rise in the land. Here on this hill, nestled in ankle-deep buffalo grass sits the Bar JZ Ranch. The J and the Z stand for John Zilverberg who rests here, forearms on a wood fence. He's haloed by the tepid October sun and--though you wouldn’t know by his apparent indifference--is being hit from the south with a steady forty mile an hour wind that rolls across these prairies without pause for days on end for hundreds of miles. I bet you also wouldn’t guess that this man is 104 years young. ? @elliotstudio •
