Here is the “Engineer Sack Coat,” today’s Chore Coat, from a Carhartt catalog circa 1925. Although newspaper ads of the coat date back to 1917, this is the first catalog appearance in the Carhartt Archive collection. It was offered in denim (both solid and with a hairline stripe pattern), herringbone twill, and white sail cloth drill. #TBT
