#Xylaroo- Intelligent, inspirited and informed Indie

We are all a product of our environment, and it shows with some of us more than others. For this sister act, their environment has been a worldly experience of travelling around the globe, listing their location as ‘London via Papua New Guinea’ on social media. This comes as a result of their parent’s job postings, but more latterly as a continuation of their global identity. And their wanderlust has done nothing other than enhance and enrich their sweet euphony, distinctly distinguishing them from many other bands of late. Offering a warmth and narrative of distant, peaceful places for those of us on our last legs from the London grind.
Not only do these harmonious tunes reflect their observations along the way, but are also entwined withintelligent, thought-provoking opinions of current social and political matters. Escapism, yes, but not without the weight of our social responsibility in the city we call home.

Underground had the great pleasure of welcoming Coco and Holly to our Soho store for an interview- and impromptu gig- back in June. Since then, Xylaroo have been hitting up the festival circuit, and their debut album ‘Sweetooth’, available on a stunning vinyl, is deservedly netting a place as essential summertime listening.
