Red Bull @GRCSeroes Louisville - Day 2 Report ⠀ As rallycross fans flooded into the Kentucky Fair & Exposition Center, SRTUSA drivers @ChrisAtko and @PatrikSandell prepared for warm up laps in their 2017 Subaru WRX STI Rallycross cars. A heavy overcast layer and overnight rain had cooled down the venue significantly, a refreshing relief after yesterday’s high humidity and temperatures in the 90’s.⠀ ⠀ The warm-up round started as scheduled at 10:00am and both SRTUSA drivers were on pace. Chris Atkinson was third fastest, while Patrik Sandell was running mid-pack. However, the massive jump and subsequent hard landings were causing unforeseen issues with the suspension. With limited time available and a tight schedule, SRTUSA engineers were unable to resolve the issue in time for the final. It was an abrupt end to an otherwise successful weekend that saw the SRTUSA rallycross cars steadily gaining on the competition. ⠀ ⠀ The 2017 Red Bull Global Rallycross Champsionship continues in two weeks with the season’s first double-header weekend at Thompson Speedway in Connecticut June 3-4. Simultaneously, David Higgins & Craig Drew will be battling teammates Travis Pastrana & Robbie Durant at the Susquehannock Trail Performance Rally in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. Stay tuned as we follow both SRTUSA teams going for gold!
