One of the more finessed parts of jacket making is attaching the facing. Length needs to be added to allow the lapel to have a rich roll too much and you have a mess, the bottom of the facing is swung back to encourage the bottom front quarters to roll in sightly, and if there is a check it must match. For our peak lapels a great deal of skill is required especially on thick fabrics like this to get a shop thin point. Here we see @claire__emerson pressing open the seam on the edge of the lapel.
