Squares of fondant fancies to squares of swimming pool tiles and canvases. As well as painting pools Hockney also painted in them, including the infamous Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood - seen within the mini canvas here. The simple motif and brushstroke led me to recreate the pattern in coconut chips, made all the more apparent laid on a bright blue swimming pool tile. Coconut consequently inspired the coconut cream filling inside the lemon and blueberry fondant fancies. California blueberries no less! From exceedingly good cakes to canvases. Fondant fancies and Hockney combined!
