This year at Milan, after too many years away, we are bringing back some of Tom’s early works - we call them ‘The Veterans’. The original S Chair (1986) made out of the inner tubes from truck tyres – the material was free, bouncy, light and strong - the smell of road probably didn’t help its commerciality.
