Dans son tableau "Saint Pierre repentant" le coq symbolise le reniement du saint, alors que le livre et la clef sont les attributs de l'apôtre. Ce tableau connut beaucoup de succès : de nombreuses répliques ont été faites dont une à la cathédrale de Séville. ? ENG  The painter Gerard SEGHERS was born #OnThisDay in 1591. In his work "The Repentant St. Peter", the rooster symbolizes the denial of Saint Peter; the book and the key are attributes of the Apostle. This painting has been sucessful: many replicas exist, one of them is in Seville cathedral.
