Look up. ? A modern art collection needs a modern home. Architect Gordon Bunshaft (1909-1990) conceived and designed the Hirshhorn as “a large piece of functional sculpture.” Our brutalist building is exactly halfway between the Washington Monument and the U.S. Capitol on the National Mall.
