Did you know that the Smithsonian has a marine research station and aquarium (@smithsoniansms) in Florida? The Smithsonian Marine Station in Fort Pierce is a branch of @smithsoniannmnh that specializes in studying marine biodiversity and ecosystems of Florida.

The queen angelfish is one of the most dazzling animals that can be spotted swimming around our aquarium’s Caribbean Coral Reef Ecosystem and is also found locally in Florida. The blue “crown” on its forehead gives this beauty a rather regal appearance!
