Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs annually gives awards to individuals who contributed in bringing other countries and Japan closer together and creating friendships. This year, Hisako Shohara was awarded. She came to the US in 1956, as a Certified Ohara-style Ikebana Head Professor in Japan. .
