Each of Yuji Agematsu’s sculptures is made from assorted debris gathered from his daily walks through New York City’s streets. With his eyes downcast, he trawls for proof of decay and transience, often stooping to snatch up cigarette butts, bits of chewed gum, pieces of plant matter, matchbooks, discarded packaging scraps, and swatches of ripped cloth—organizing them into a system of his own design. The series is comprised of 365 sculptures, one for each day of the calendar year. #TheKeeper
