Up close photo from yesterday, me wearing Yukata for A Yakata Show at the Japan Fair ?
Sorry this isn't my daily look or anything like that, but this is part of a beautiful culture where I was grew up. I love America so much, and I actually love living here rather than in Japan haha ? But the longer I live, the deeper my love for Japan gets, especially its culture - food, language, fashion, anime, costume, you name it! I always long to go to a summer festival and see the lovely fireworks rocking my favorite Yukata! Even after I came to America, the affaire never decreased...That's why modeling at a Japanese festival every year has been my thing now, with self-styling however, it gives a fresh new look or way of wearing a Yukata. One of the reasons why I decided to become a blogger is to show people that there is always an endless way to style a piece, and styling a Yukata really reminds me of the beginning...
In fact, it took me forever to style this ?? for this show. I didn't want to just wear Yukata cuz after all I want to present myself as a style blogger. So I came up the idea of "Yukata meets OOTD with a touch of sexiness" (see the full look on the previous photo ) For Yukata style, I decided to show off shoulders because it's super trendy now and somehow I wanted to cooperate that. Plus it's always a great look for sex-appeal. Normally Yukata is not worn with the short length, but mine is purposely shortened to highlight the casual look and also to show off the pretty pair of lace up sandals. Then, I am wearing a cami and white cutoffs underneath this Yukata when the OBI (the Yukata belt) is taken off. I topped it off with a wide brimmed boater hat ? as the hair accessories (kanzashi) are removed. That's my whole presentation at the show! Sounds very interesting, doesn't it? ✨
Sorry for the long post.. but I just wanted to tell you why I love wearing Yukata so much and wanted to share with my loves so that you get to know me more as a native Japanese living in America! ?✨ I hope you love this me in Kawaii Yukata, and get to be interested in more of a Japanese culture!!! So glad many of you have adored this look already hehe ????
